"Toya: A Family Affair" Season Sneak Peek

Take a look at "Toya: A Family Affair" before anyone else!

Fans, the media, and Toya-Twitterholics alike have been waiting with bated breath and excited anticipation for the debut of Antonia "Toya" Carter's new show on BET, Toya: A Family Affair to premiere. As Toya returns to the NOLA to confront long-harbored issues with her family, viewers get an in-depth look at where she came from and how far she's come.

Toya is used to being in the public eye. Her marriage to her now ex-husband, hip hop phenom Lil Wayne, unwittingly thrust her and her daughter Reginae into the public eye. Although being wed to a pop culture icon put her name in lights, it was Toya's beauty, business acumen and likability that kept it there. Suddenly, everyone wanted to know who she was, what made her tick and who she was dating.

Fans got to know her in BET's record-breaking series Tiny & Toya, but now they'll get to meet her family. Her mother Anita is getting over a drug addiction and finally learning to take her place as the matriarch of the family once again. Toya wasn't raised by her mother, but still wants the close relationship that every daughter desires. She watches over her four brothers, Walter Jr., Rudy, Casey and Josh. Although the brothers are a spitting image of Toya, their stories couldn't be anymore different.

Walter Jr. was just released from a 10-year prison term. He navigates life with his girlfriend, Tosha, and is trying to rekindle a relationship with his father, Walter Sr. It's apparent to the family that Rudy needs to hit the books, and they help teach him about the importance of education as he comes into his own as a man. Casey is learning was it means to be a father, as he's about to become one himself. Josh is dealing with what it means to grow up in the NOLA, and discovering that the street life isn't the best life.

Now we come to little Reginae Carter, a well-rounded, beautiful little girl who is growing up with a strong mother as an example. Viewers see how she struggled with the absence of her father, Lil Wayne, while he served a year-long prison term.

Perhaps what will endear Toya and her family to viewers isn't her fame, but the fact that her family deals with their ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies just like we do. Often, celebrities are placed under a microscope, and people think they experience fewer problems than the rest of us. Toya: A Family Affair is about sticking by your loved ones through thick and thin, and shows us that fame isn't a shield from life's travails. This uplifting, comical and groundbreaking show is sure to excite fans of Toya and make new ones out of skeptics that aren't familiar with her brand.
