Could Newt Gingrich’s Presidential Campaign Already Be Over?
While Newt Gingrich was on a luxury cruise in the Greek Isles, senior aids resigned en masse, leaving his campaign in big trouble.
Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich’s campaign experienced a major blow today after top campaign aides resigned en masse.
Rick Tyler, Gingrich's spokesman, said he, campaign manager Rob Johnson and senior strategists had resigned, along with aides in the early primary and caucus states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. They left because of differences in the campaign’s direction.
When informed of their decision, the former House Speaker said that he intends to stay in the race. But since Tiffany-gate, he has been laying low. In fact, Gingrich and his wife have been on weeklong luxury cruise to the Greek Isles only to return to his own sinking ship.
