At just 16 years of age, Bryce James, the youngest son of Los Angeles Lakers megastar LeBron James, has received an offer to attend Ohio State University in 2025 following his visit with the school, reports CBS News.

Getting a taste of the college experience, Bryce was spotted on the sidelines as the Buckeyes' football team took on the University of Maryland Terrapins on Saturday (October 7) chatting with Chris Holtman, Ohio State basketball head coach

During his visit, Bryce posed for several pictures in Ohio State University basketball gear, including one with his mother Savannah.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Bryce expressed his excitement about the possibility of being a Buckeye.

“Blessed to receive an offer from Ohio state #GoBuckeyes,”his post read.

In 2022, Bronny, Bryce’s older brother, also took a trip to visit the Buckeyes and was seen on the sidelines during a game against Notre Dame. Eventually, Bronny signed with the University of Southern California, where he is recovering after suffering cardiac arrest caused a congenital heart defect in August.

At 6-foot-4, 180 pounds, Bryce played his freshman and sophomore seasons with Bronny at Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, Calif., at shooting guard but transferred over the summer. He also played for Campbell Hall in Studio City, Calif., before transferring schools to Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks, Calif. He was set to attend USA Basketball training camp in Colorado Springs but opted to visit Ohio State instead. Currently, he is ranked as the No. 20 SG and No. 129 player overall in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

If Bryce commits to Ohio State, he would play his college ball in the home state of his father who was born in Akron. The university is approximately less than two hours away from St. Vincent-St. Mary, the high school where LeBron James launched his legendary career.
