Tupac Shakur's Estate Issues Drake Cease-and-Desist Letter For Using an AI-generated Tupac Voice in a Diss Track

The late rapper's estate is "deeply dismayed" and would "never have given its approval" for the '"Tayor Made Freestyle.'

Tupac Shakur's estate has sent Drake a cease-and-desist letter via attorney Howard King, demanding he remove his track "Taylor Made Freestyle" within 24 hours to avoid legal action, according to Billboard.

The estate alleges unauthorized use of Tupac's AI-generated voice on the track, currently available on Drake's Instagram but not yet on streaming platforms.

The letter states, "The Estate is deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality,” the cease-and-desist letter allegedly reads. "Not only is the record a flagrant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time. The Estate would never have given its approval for this use."

Snoop Dogg Reacts To Being Used In Drake’s A.I. Track

The track targets Kendrick Lamar, igniting controversy due to Lamar's public respect and admiration for Tupac. Drake threw more shots at Lamar for not responding to his first diss track, “Push Ups,” ridiculing him as a disappointment to the legacy of West Coast hip-hop.

Drake has yet to respond or remove the song.
