Halle Berry Puts $18 Million Malibu Mansion On The Market

The 5,100 square foot estate features three bedrooms, multiple decks, and balconies facing the Pacific Ocean.

Halle Berry is parting ways with her Malibu pad.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Oscar winner has listed the home for $18 million. It was a colossal investment for the star, with over a 100% return after originally purchasing it for $8.5 million in 2004.

Berry, who starred in "Catwoman" the same year she purchased the home, said she was inspired to buy it because of its anonymity.

“My home sits on a beach but it feels very private because it’s at the end of the cul-de-sac, so there were never any crowds,” she explained, while adding, “I’ve always loved the ocean.”

Now, she desires a change of scenery.

"I’m looking to create a new magical space,” she said.

The Malibu Cove Colony property is nestled in a gated community off the scenic Pacific Coast Highway that spreads across 5,100 square feet and has three bedrooms. It features high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and natural light.

Not only that, it contains multiple balconies and decks for a perfect view of the ocean.

The abode also has curved lines that resemble the ocean and the primary living space is accentuated with an undulating design and a circular skylight. “It feels very much like you’ve entered into a beautiful yacht,” said listing agent Richard Ehrlich of Carolwood Estates, who is marketing the property with colleague Cooper Mount.

In the main bedroom, there is a fireplace for cozy nights and a sitting area. Another fireplace is located in a loft that doubles as an office for the actor.

The house dates back to the 1990s, but after Berry bought it, she performed a full overhaul.

“I reimagined it for my way of living,” she said. Berry called the residence home for an entire year before it became her weekend retreat.

Additionally, it served as the place where she celebrated Christmas with her family after enduring winters in Cleveland that were "always full of ice, cold weather and snow angels."
